Republican Women of Southwest Louisiana
The Republican Women of Southwest Louisiana was chartered in 1990 as an affiliate club of the Louisiana Federation of Republican Women (LFRW) and the National Federation of Republican Women (NFRW). Our club centers around Lake Charles, Louisiana and includes cities within the parishes of Calcasieu and Cameron, although members outside this area may join. Our club belongs to Region 3 of the LFRW. Part of our membership dues are sent to the LFRW and, in turn, to the NFRW. Thus each member of our local club automatically becomes a member of the state and national clubs when we annually send in our membership rolls and dues.
The Objectives of our organization are to:
a. Promote an informed electorate through political education and activity.
b. Increase the effectiveness of women in the cause of good government.
c. Foster loyalty to the Republican Party and to promote its principles and ideas.
d. Support Republican objectives and policies and work for the election of Republican nominees.

What we do
We hold a monthly luncheon meeting. At this meeting, we conduct club business and strive to provide guest speakers that can provide information on current issues of national, state or local interest. We have a great time, a great meal and leave unified to promote the principles and ideas of our party.
Our club also is actively involved year round in initiatives adopted by our state and national federation and also things that are important to our membership. We raise money in order to provide funds and volunteer manpower to Pillows for Troops, the Dictionary Project, the Marie Key Martin Scholarship and other donations to local charities/individuals in need of help. We have also set up and self funded Republican headquarters for key elections. This is a huge undertaking of time and volunteers to set up and staff each day during the election. We periodically hold voter registration drives and staff booths for local events to promote our club or Republican candidates. Our club members get actively involved in supporting their candidates and their party. Our club does not endorse a candidate unless he/she is the only Republican in the race. We do not give money directly to candidates.

When Republican women get mobilized, look out! We can get it done!
